ATLANTA (WFLA) — An officer in Atlanta made a "scent"-sational arrest after sniffing out a robbery suspect hiding in a crawl space.
On Saturday, the Atlanta Police Department was on the hunt for two suspects who were believed to be connected to an armed robbery on Nov. 23.
An officer's bodycam video shows the takedown of the first suspect who was located on the side of a road.
Their search then led officers to a crawl space. But it was an unusual aspect that gave away the suspect's presence.
"I smell cologne," the officer is heard saying as he sniffed the air. "Hey, you guys smell the cologne?"
Suddenly, the officers spotted the suspect, who was then ordered to crawl over to the officer.
"Hey man, you shouldn't wear so much cologne, homie," the officer added.
The police department identified the suspects as 19-year-old Kortez Ragland and 24-year-old Kentraevious Hunter. The duo are both charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
