TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- A mild start to the week with near record warmth through Tuesday. Temperatures will warm into the upper 80s.

Rain chances are at just a slim 10% chance through Tuesday.

A weak front will pass through Tuesday evening bringing a slight drop in humidity for Wednesday and Thursday.

A strong cold front will arrive Thursday night into Friday morning with a few showers possible. This will drop temperatures closer to average with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s this weekend. The humidity will be much lower as well.

The tropics remain active with Post-tropical Rafael still spinning in the Gulf of Mexico. It will continue to dissipate over the next couple of days.

The National Hurricane Center is now highlighting a new area in the western Caribbean for possible development. Although the chances are low right now, forecast models are hinting at another tropical system developing by the end of the week before drifting north.

It is too early to say where it will go after that, but just like the past few storms, it will need watching heading into the weekend.
