TAMPA, Fla (WFLA) — The 17-year-old who was accused of firing shots near Armature Works earlier this month will be charged as an adult, according to the State Attorney's Office.

Tampa police said surveillance footage captured Gabriel Catuy firing shots during the incident, which left three people injured.

He faces charges of attempted murder and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

"What he did that afternoon, those decisions that he made by shooting and actually hitting innocent people, those are adult choices, and he's going to face adult consequences," said State Attorney Suzy Lopez.

Catuy had a hearing in juvenile court Monday morning, and his attorney waived his appearance. He's due back in court next month.

Jaimartez Young, 19, also faces attempted murder charges in connection with the shooting.
