TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Mission BBQ is a restaurant chain with multiple locations across the country that honors our veterans every day.
On Monday, their location in Temple Terrace was packed as many veterans visited for a special Veterans Day ceremony.
“Our idea is that we’re standing for those who cannot stand today," US Navy Veteran and Patriot Guard Riders Florida Ride Captain Donald Stamford said. “The real heroes in this country are veterans who could not be here today."
Mission BBQ's mission is "Proudly Serving Those Who Serve" and locations are known to stop at noon to stand and salute the flag.
“As Americans, we are so very blessed," US Army Air Corps Veteran Arthur Fuxan said. "We ought to look at that and we should all try to come together as one nation.”
Mission BBQ is offering free sandwiches to veterans throughout the day on Veterans Day.
