BARTOW, Fla. (WFLA) — An exchange teacher from India who began teaching with Polk County Public Schools arrived with knowledge to share, but without a means of transportation.
Jayesh Arippra Kuzhiyil is a teacher at Bartow Middle School.
But when the district realized their new teaching talent was without a car, they knew they had to pitch in.
On Wednesday, with the help of Bartow Middle staff and the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Kuzhiyil was surprised with a Buick.
To cover insurance and registration, Bolton's Towing Service also pitched in with a check.
The photos above show the moment the teacher receives his brand new cruiser, as deputies and staff surround Kuzhiyil and his new ride. He even posed for a shot in the driver's seat.
"Such awesome community support, thank you to all involved!" the school district said.
