TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Part of the Selmon Expressway is set to close this week for an overnight inspection.
The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) announced Tuesday that the West Extension portion of the expressway will close for a routine bridge inspection Thursday night.
The closure is expected to begin at 8 p.m. and remain closed until Friday before 6 a.m.
According to THEA, the closure is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and integrity of the expressway.
Which route should I take?
While the THEA states drivers should anticipate only "minor delays" during the closure, residents are encouraged to use Gandy Boulevard's local lanes during the overnight closure to minimize the impact on travel plans.
