TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Flags will be flying at flag-staff in one Florida city on Monday.
Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered the United States flag and the State of Florida flag to be flown at half-staff to honor Bill Gunter.
Gunter, who passed away at the age of 89 on April 8, served in the Florida Senate, the U.S. Congress, and the Florida Cabinet as an Insurance commissioner, State Treasurer, and Fire Marshall.
"He displayed a life-long commitment to public service," the Governor's Office said in a statement.
The flags will be flown half-staff in Tallahassee from sunrise to sunset.
